Well, I'm not counting them just yet, but, I feel I soon will be. In less than two months I shall begin my last year of school.
Voice: And he is so happy. Can't you tell?
Happy? Sure, I'm happy.
Voice: Really?
Sure. What's not to be happy about? My high school career is coming to a close and life beyond the subtle realm of the monotonous procedure of coming to P.K. Yonge day-after-day leaves me with a feeling that is optimism, but...
Voice: But??
Delicately, I'd put it as uncertainty.
Voice: Uncertainty?
Sure. What else is there to be? The world is BIG place. I'll be new in it. Yeah, I've been around already for seventeen plus years, but that doesn't matter in the long run. The end of high school, is the beginning of everything else.
Voice: It doesn't help that it hasn't prepared you for didly.
*Sighs* Yeah. It would have been nice if it had.
Voice: Yeah.
So, to the readers of this, this entry is mostly a ramble. I have nothing of any particular meaning to say. I just feel like writing.
I guess I'll start with an update on my summer break. I was fortunate enough to go on a mini vacation. I visited the MOSI in Tampa and greatly enjoyed the experience (and subsequently was in disgust of the price for a bottle of soda on the premises, $2.50).
That trip ended nicely with the viewing of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I'll say here and now that Michael Bay has yet again reaffirmed my observation that he cannot direct a film with an ounce of actual worthwhile acting in it. Instead, to compensate for his inadequacies, he inserts perverted humor that is both stupid and ridiculous. By the half-way mark of the film, I was rolling my eyes at the jokes. It was the same old crap, over and over. The only reason I went to see the movie was that the battles onscreen, true to Bay's name, were guaranteed to be as explosive and as impressive as ever. The CG was stunning. The characters looked amazing. The fights were epic. The story...was crappy and childish.
Moving on, the rest of my summer has thus far been taken up with caring for my grandfather, who suffered a stroke back in March of this year. His whole right side has little to no motor function. His speech has been heavily impaired. My job has been to help him about the house (yes, ALL about the house) >.< . It is a demanding responsibility, taking most of my time. I am getting paid. So far, besides the love, it is the only upside.
I have been writing, which has made me wonderfully happy. I'm am closer than ever to finishing my novel...the one I started three years ago. It has been challenging, but worth every moment so far. I love my characters, Sam, Chris, Leo, Andy, Gabriel, Lucifer, Anna, the lot of them. It is a joy to write them, and the drama and action they exude. It will be painful when I have to let them go. In my mind, the story really reflects the emotional curve of my High School career. The finishing of it will truly be a bitter-sweet moment.
Band has also become a driving force in my life. I am the 2009-2010 Drum Major. Our marching show this coming year will feature music from Cirque du Soleil: Quidam. I am very excited about the season to come and will give of myself 110%.
Voice: Excuse me....
Yes?
Voice: Do you know how long this is getting?
No. How long?
Voice: VERY.
Ah, so with that I guess, I'll end this journal. I owe those of you who have read this a round of applause for just that. You are troopers. I wish everyone the best!

Cheers,
~Cam
